Bird of Paradise (Strelitzia)

Strelitzia (or the bird of paradise) is native to South Africa and South America. The bird of paradise will grow successfully in other parts that have a humid/hot climate. Even though the bird of paradise is a beautiful flower, you might want to have in mind that the plant grows by invading and over powering what is next to it. It is best to keep the plant away from any wall.

Rosemary

Rosemary

Rosemary can grow up to 5 feet. It can withstand high temperatures; it can be placed under the sun. Rosemary can be grown from its own branches or from seeds. In hot weather it might need a good hosing down. In a warm climate can remain in the same location for many years, but in climates with freezing temperatures it can be grown in pots so that it can be brought indoors during winter.

Aloe Vera

The Aloe vera plant is almost 100% water, so this will not stand freezing temperatures. It grows better under the sun in hot temperatures. Even though it can withstand droughts, water will be necessary for prolonged life. Aloe vera can be also grown in pots but they will need to be placed near the place with the most sun in the room. The plant leafs have thick center that has a gel like consistency; this gel is used medicinally.

Good plant that grows in a hot climate; it grows in desert washes, along roadsides, and in sunny, open areas. It grows up to 3 ft. Despite its common name, Arizona Poppy is not actually a poppy because it's not in the actual genus of Poppy. It needs little or moderate water. It grows better if placed under the sun
